Festival of the Grape

The 2010 Festival of the Grape is on Sunday, October 3rd

Oliver, British Columbia's Festival of the Grape is an annual event launched in 1997 by the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce. The inaugural event was a huge success, and the festival continues to thrive and grow each year. A record number of people, wineries and vendors are expected this year.

The main focus of the festival is, of course, wine. More than 30 wineries will be in attendance, all eager to please your palate with varietals from their cellars. However, the festival is much more than just wine. The festival will have many different food vendors, merchandise vendors from local stores and boutiques, live entertainment, games, a grape stomp and everyone's favorite, Jerseyland Organics' cheeses.

Come join us at this all-day family event. Bring the kids too. There is something for everyone.

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $19 or $22 at the gate. Kids are free. It is highly recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance to avoid the typically long lineups at the gate. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling he South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce office at (866) 498-6321.

Venue

The festival is held at the Oliver Community Centre. Click here for directions to Oliver.

Parking

If you want to park close to the venue, you'd best arrive early, as parking becomes very scarce around the noon hour. The festivities go until sundown and people rarely leave before the end; therefore, spots near the venue rarely become available. Please make sure you do not park on private property or block driveways.

Entertainment

In years past, the Festival of the Grape was very proud to present The Nylons and The Powder Blues. This year's entertainment has yet to be announced. Check back often for updates.

Vendors

The festival has adopted a trade show aspect. There are dozens of vendors offering items such as handcrafted clothing, wine and kitchen accessories, gourmet food items, the best cheeses this side of Europe and much more.

For the kids

There will be a rock-climbing wall, a bouncy castle, an obstacle course, face painting and much more!

Volunteering

Volunteering is a popular way take in the festivities for free. Volunteering shifts last for a couple hours. Before and after your shift, you are free to participate in the festivities. For more information on becoming a volunteer, please click here.
